TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS
Closest airports:
Bratislava (approx. 10 km from City Center)
Wien (only 60 km from Bratislava City Center,
direct bus connection)
Please have in mind that flying to Wien could be a faster
way how to reach Bratislava than flying to Bratislava (unless you have
direct flight). Wien Airport is accessible from almost all European
destinations and there is a direct bus connection between Vienna Airport
and Bratislava (City Center and Airport) operated by two companies
Slovaklines (Bus Station Bratislava, Mlynske Nivy) and
Blaguss (Bus stop Bratislava, Novy Most). The journey takes around one hour.
If you arrive DAY BEFORE and need some advice concerning your

Arrival Recommendations for Thursday 07/06/2012:
We RECOMMEND to RESERVE THE BUS TICKETS online (You can buy them
also directly from bus drivers). Use the links to bus companies (either above,
or below). You can pay over the internet and print ticket by yourself.
For luggage you need to pay 1 € (hand-one is free of charge) and having
coins, or small €-banknotes will save you time and nerves.
- option 1: flying to Wien
10:30 Vienna Airport, bus to Bratislava, Bus Station 11:30 (operated by Slovaklines)
11:40 Bratislava, Bus Station, public bus No.21 to Bratislava, Patronka (5th stop, 12 minutes) 11:52
Use map to find the institute (approx 400m walk).
- option 2: flying to Wien
11:30 Vienna Airport, bus either to Bratislava, Bus Station (12:30), or Bratislava, Airport 12:45 (operated by Slovaklines)
11:45 Vienna Airport, bus to Bratislava, Airport 12:45 (operated by Blaguss)
12:30 Vienna Airport, bus to Bratislava, Bus Station 13:30 (operated by Slovaklines)
13:20 Bratislava - Bus Station Mlynske Nivy, Conference bus to Smolenice 15:00
13:45 Bratislava Airport, Conference bus to Smolenice 15:00
- option 3: coming by train to Bratislava, Main Railway Station
either bus No.61 to Bratislava Airport (till the last stop, 21 minutes) -> conference bus 13:45
or trolley-bus No.210 to Bratislava, Bus Station Mlynske Nivy (last stop, 10 minutes) -> conference bus 13:20
or bus No.21 to Bratislava, Patronka (just 1 stop, 4 minutes) and then find the Institute of Physics. WARNING: the stop is approximatively 100 metres downhill (on right side). -> conference bus 13:00
- option 4: If you are coming by train from Wien:
There are two variants, both leaving from Wien, Sudbahnhof
(very likely you will need to change from Wien Westbahnhof
using the Wien public transportation). Either you take the
train arriving to Bratislava Main Railway Station, or to
Bratislava, Petrzalka. Please try to avoid the one to Petrzalka,
because than it is a bit complicated to get to the stops of
the conference bus. Trains (both of them) run every hour.

Public buses on Sunday 10/06/2012:
Well, it's Sunday. There is one direct bus to Bratislava at 6:52 and then
at 11:30. The duration is approx. 90 minutes. Alternatives contain a bit
of local adventure and can be checked at http://www.cp.sk/.
